The 2nd International Organization for Standardization Crane Technical Committee (ISO/TC96) Domestic Technical Matching Expert Working Group Establishment Meeting and the 1st Meeting of the 2nd Session were successfully held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province from July 14 to 16, 2021. 29 members of the working group attended the meeting. This conference is hosted by Beijing Crane Transport Machinery Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and organized by Eurocrane  Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. Vice Director Ren Yanbo of the National Standardization Management Committee and Wu Xuxiang of the Suzhou Market Supervision Bureau were invited to attend. The meeting was chaired by Comrade Zhang Xijun, Chairman of ISO/TC96 and Leader of the Second ISO/TC96 Domestic Technical Matching Expert Working Group. Ms. Jin Hongping, Chairman of Eurocrane Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., was invited to attend and deliver a welcome speech.

Technical Committee 96 (TC96) refers to the Crane Technical Committee under the International Organization for Standardization. Since 2012, the TC96 Secretariat has been taken over by China and settled in Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co., Ltd. Its main responsibilities are to standardize cranes and related equipment in terms of terminology, rated load, testing, safety, general design principles, maintenance, operation, and lifting accessories.

The members of the ISO/TC96 Domestic Technical Coordination Expert Working Group come from various relevant parties such as crane production enterprises, research institutes, inspection and testing institutions, and universities. It has been five years since its official establishment in July 2015. Since its establishment, the expert working group has accurately completed various international standardization work for lifting machinery, especially making significant breakthroughs in the development of international standards for lifting machinery led by China, fully leveraging the important role played by the expert group in improving the level of international standardization activities for lifting machinery. At the same time, the expert working group vigorously explores and recommends excellent professional talents to join, and Lan Jiangsong, a senior engineer at the Eurocrane  Technology Center, is included in the list of the second expert working group.  

This meeting summarized the work of the first expert working group, reviewed the draft of the "ISO/TC96 Domestic Technical Matching Expert Working Group Charter", introduced the progress of China's leading international standard revision and the next year's work plan. The attending experts discussed new opportunities and challenges under China's "dual carbon" strategy, how to leverage industry advantages, regulate industry order, and align with international standards, which has played a positive role in promoting the green, healthy, and sustainable development of China's lifting machinery industry.
